I've jumped right into life with kids and there is always a surprise around every corner. Some good, some challenging. I won't say bad because they are all learning lessons. I got one of sweetest surprises last weekend.
A while back Pat had asked me if I had plans on the day before Mother's Day. I didn't have anything planned but I knew that Jack had a baseball tournament in Battle Creek. I was told that I wasn't going on Saturday and that I needed to keep that day free. It's hard to pull one over on me so I knew that something was up. Then a few weeks ago a friend accidental texted me that she couldn't make it my shower. It was later at night when I got the text and I wasn't sure how to handle it so I just ignored it. I didn't want her to feel bad for her mistake and I didn't want to know any more than what I already did.
Little did I know that Grace & her friend Edie were behind the whole thing. They came up with idea back in March and have been working on it ever since. They made beautiful centerpieces that had sand and sea shells since we are getting married on the beach. They made chocolate sea shells as a gift for guests to take home. The made cupcakes and came up with the cutest shower games. I was so impressed with how thoughtful & creative they are.
It's been a challenge adjusting to having these kids in my life and I now know that it will all work out in the end!
