A few years ago, my lovely sister introduced me to what is now one of my favorite breakfasts...savory french toast! I don't usually like anything sweet first thing in the morning and this was a great twist on french toast. I started with the end of a
baguette that was just starting to get stale, perfect for french toast:

After I sliced up the bread, I took one egg and cracked it into a bowl. I added a little bit of almond milk, some fresh basil, and pepper. It also works well with rosemary but I didn't have any on hand. It's fun to experiment with different herbs and spices.

I like to top the toast off with sliced tomato and feta cheese:
